About

Our Mission:

We equip Christian parents to train their children in the fear and instruction of the Lord, so that the whole earth would know that King Jesus is alive.

What Does it Mean to Be “God Centered?”

Every family lives for something.

You want your family to live for more than scholarships, sports, and success, but it can feel impossible to bring your kids to focus on the eternal when the earthly voices surrounding them are so loud.

Your life doesn’t belong to you — you were bought with a price.

Your family doesn’t belong to you either.

We want to give our children a grand vision of who God is and what he has done, so that they would know him as their greatest treasure.

We want our children to treasure Christ more than their own lives, so that they can lay their lives down to tell the whole earth that King Jesus is alive.

Every family lives for something.
Lead your family to live for God.

What is “Family Worship?”

Family worship is the daily habit of gathering your entire household to read the Bible, pray, and sing God’s praises.

While there is no command in the Bible that you must have family worship every day, Christians have been practicing family worship for centuries. It’s an important way to make God the center of your home.

From the beginning of our children’s lives, habits and routines are the only way they learn anything. Teaching anything takes a lot of repetition, so we need to make sure to prioritize God’s Word enough for our children to understand its message, its content, and its priority.

About the Creator

Hi there, I’m Doug, the creator of GodCenteredFamily.org and SpurgeonBooks. I’m also a dad, a husband, and a pastor. I trained for ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I received a master’s of divinity degree.

One of my greatest passions is equipping godly parents like you to make disciples of all nations, starting in your own home.

There are only two options for us, our children, and everyone else who’s ever lived: be conformed to the world or be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2).

God wants to use you to transform your children by filling their minds with his Word.

Let’s fill our children’s ears, minds, and hearts with the Bible, so that they would know King Jesus is a savior worth giving everything for.

What We Believe

Our statement of beliefs is most comprehensively articulated by the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689.

God is to be worshipped everywhere in spirit and in truth; as in private families daily, and in secret each one by himself.” — London Baptist Confession of 1689, 22.6
